Start with the user, climate and duty cycle
Specify the operating conditions before selecting the garment architecture.
Record the expected temperature and humidity range, indoor or outdoor exposure, activity and rest periods, and whether body armour or another outer layer is worn.
Identify whether the priority is next-to-skin comfort, rapid moisture movement, freedom of movement, a cooling sensation or a combination of these needs.
Turn comfort language into reviewable requirements
Terms such as cooling, breathable and quick dry should become an agreed sample and test plan.
Define the test method or comparison route the buyer will use, including any wash-conditioning requirement.
Confirm fabric hand feel, stretch direction, seam placement, neckline, sleeve length and size grading because garment construction affects the user experience.

Material composition alone does not determine field suitability.
Review the fabric together with fit, stitching, labels, branding, colour, packing and the intended layering system.
Use an approved sample as the reference for workmanship, measurements and functional review before bulk production.
Protect repeat-order consistency
Document the approved reference so later orders can be compared against the same basis.
Keep the confirmed specification, size chart, colour reference, label artwork, packing method and agreed inspection checkpoints together.
Reconfirm any changed yarn, finish, component or test requirement before repeat production.
